Praying for an Outpouring of the Spirit.

2 Chronicles 7:13-14. ‘When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.’.

The next Concert of Prayer will be held (DV) on Saturday, April 5th between 10-00am and 12 Noon. Christians all over the country will be coming together to plead with God to come down in power on this poor benighted land and turn it from its sin and ignorance.

All the nostrums of the Church Growth gurus have not saved the country from its descent into secularism and rebellion. By the time the prayer meetings take place, it seems certain that the first same-sex ‘marriages’ will have been celebrated (if that is the word!). The machinations of the Christian Institute, Christian Concern, Christian Voice and all the other organizations have not been able to prevent them. We are shut up to God and to His mercy. The verses from 2 Chronicles, quoted above, are perhaps the seminal verses for those seeking revival {1}. If you, my reader, live in Britain, why not seek out a church near you where the concert of prayer is being held, or if you can’t find one, why not start one yourself?

The two churches in Devon where the event will be taking place are Scott Drive Church, Exmouth and Newhouse Baptist Church, Smeatharpe. The are many others throughout the country.

{1} I have written in depth about these verses on this blog. Go to ‘Revival’ and you will find five articles there.
